Clodagh’s "Global Passage" is an earth-friendly textile collection for the home exclusively for Duralee. These fabrics have been designed to utilize “green” components that minimize this collection’s environmental impact. Each fabric has been woven by mills that are equally committed to environmental conservation and take precautionary measures to ensure that the methods through which the fabric is produced are as ecologically healthy as possible. From reduction in water consumption and yarn waste, to energy conservation and use of wind power, each step in the production of the fabrics in this collection has been carefully executed to maintain the health and well being of our planet.
We have compiled a brief glossary of “green” terms that you may find in the content and finishing information for each fabric in the Clodagh Exclusively for Duralee, Global Passage collection.

All fabrics in Global Passage are between 51% to 100% "Green". Please see the glossary below for content information.

Recyclable Polyester - At the end of a fabric’s life, Recyclable Polyester can be recovered and recycled to create new raw material for future products. |
Post-Consumer Recycled Polyester* - The Post-Consumer Recycled Polyester yarns are made from recycled plastic bottles.
(16 20oz. bottles = 1 yard of fabric). |
Post-Industrial/Pre-Consumer Recycled Polyester - Post-Industrial/Pre-Consumer Recycled Polyester yarns are made from plastic chips that have been rejected from bottle companies during the process of making bottles for consumers. |
Wide Spec Polyester - Fibers are produced using a “Wide Spec Polyester chip” that maximizes the value of waste materials throughout the manufacturing process, therefore minimizing the amount of waste at the end of the process. |
Organic Cotton - Sustainable, rapidly renewable**, and biodegradable fiber that has been grown through a carefully guided and strictly regulated process without pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. Organic cotton is also naturally hypoallergenic. |
Bamboo/Bamboo Rayon - Sustainable, rapidly renewable** and biodegradable fiber made from bamboo plants that are replenished without
environmental impact. Bamboo/Bamboo Rayon is also naturally hypoallergenic. |
Hemp - Sustainable, renewable and biodegradable, hemp requires little to no
pesticides or herbicides, it controls erosion of the topsoil, and produces oxygen. |
Flax - Sustainable, renewable and biodegradable, naturally grown flax fiber is soft, lustrous and flexible. It is stronger than cotton fiber but less elastic. Most linen fabrics are made from flax fiber. |
*Certified Silver Cradle-to-Cradle by MBDC
**Rapidly Renewable - Rapidly renewable materials are products that regenerate quicker than demand for the products.
Sustain - The Sustain finish is PFOC/PFOA free (chemical by-products of the
flurochemical process that have been shown to be harmful to humans in high doses), environmentally safe and non-toxic. Fabrics treated using the Sustain finish are stain resistant against corn oil, mustard, ketchup, and chocolate. Sustain does not change the fabric texture, color or appearance. |
Sustain-EcoWash - Sustain-EcoWash finish uses anti-migrant biodegradable solvents to prevent color migration. The finishing process uses 90% less water during wash and 50% less gas during drying. After the process, all water used is recycled. |

GreenShield™ minimizes use of harmful flurochemicals, as well as the consumption of energy throughout the finishing process, in addition to eliminating water and volatile organic chemicals and solvents. GreenShield™ is certified for indoor air quality and features enhanced recyclability while delivering superior water repellency. |
